Martin said candidates for degree offerings include hotel and restaurant management, natural resource management and agricultural programs. UNM does not offer such programs.

New Mexico Highlands already has offers courses in Rio Rancho.

But don't expect another prominent New Mexico school to have a Rio Rancho campus
Koch said he has spoken with New Mexico Tech President Dan Lopez about the Socorro school holding classes at the Rio Rancho campus.
Lopez said Tuesday that Tech's focus on science and research offers limited possibilities for serving students beyond its main campus.
"We have a very narrow curriculum, and we don't offer programs of high demand," Lopez said. Tech serves off-campus students largely through its online degree programs, he said.
