Heather Wilson Complains About Parade Placement
As noted on Daily Kos, it looks like Heather Wilson is concentrating on the big issues. Not Iraq. Not her bungled Medicare Part "Dial D for Disaster". Not immigration. Not rising oil prices. But where she will be placed in the State Fair parade.
Hat tip to DCCC.org:
So why was Rep. Wilson moved from the front to the back? Because the State Fair didn't want to show special preference to anyone on the ballot this year. If he shows up, even Governor Bill Richardson will have to suffer the indignity of sitting with all the other politicians up for election.
But Wilson thinks there are some ulterior motives.
Yes, you and every other candidate up for election are forced to ride in the back of the parade because someone put undue political pressure on the parade organizers, Heather.
This comes off as petty and just a bit arrogant by Wilson.
And she has no one to blame but herself for the consequences of this, so let's head that thought off right away.
Petty. Arrogant. Your Republican candidate for the First Congressional District, New Mexico.

Forget the tug-of-war between the 1st Congressional District candidates over the Iraq war, reforms for prescription drug programs and ethics in government.
Rep. Heather Wilson is steamed about the New Mexico State Fair parade.
Wilson, R-N.M., today released a letter she sent to state fairgrounds general manager Fred Peralta. She complained about being moved from the front of the parade — her spot since being elected to Congress — to a cluster of politicians farther back.
"I want to know what basis was used to decide placement of an elected official's entry and political candidate or party's entries in this year's parade," Wilson wrote. "Why was there a change from past practices for me to participate as an 'Invited Official?'"

Wilson suggested the change could have been politically motivated and that she was "particularly concerned that inappropriate political pressure may have been applied to an official event of the state of New Mexico supported by taxpayer funds."

Note that Wilson's letter wasn't leaked. She released it. She honestly thinks this is a huge injustice, eager to let people know how she has been unfairly wronged.
